Proving that in the eyes of Sports Illustrated, mountain running is a second class sport, the winners of the 2009 USATF National Mountain Running Championships were relegated to "Faces in the Crowd". I guess some publicity is better than none at all.Anyway, congratulations to our neighbor to the north Joe Gray (Lakewood, WA) and Chris Lundy (Sausaulito, CA) for making it into the July 27 edition of Sports Illustrated. Joe and Chris won their respective races at the Mt. Cranmore Hillclimb and qualified for the 2009 Teva US Mountain Running Team. Joe will be racing in Oregon on August 1 at the Mt. Ashland Hillclimb to take a shot at the course record.
